Start smacking your lips and get ready to kick off the summer at the Bellevue Strawberry Festival this weekend presented by the Eastside Heritage Center. Founded in 1925 by Charles Bovee, the Bellevue Strawberry Festival is an annual tradition that celebrates Bellevue’s agricultural heritage, as well as its diverse cultural past, present and future. The Festival will be held Saturday, June 22 from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm, and Sunday, June 23 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at Crossroads Park in Bellevue.
This year’s Festival will feature entertainment all weekend long on the Microsoft Main Stage, fresh strawberry shortcake, and historical displays and activities presented by the Eastside Heritage Center. There will be food for all tastes and over 70 vendor booths, from hand crafts to home improvement. The Republic Services Family Fun Area will be abuzz with pony rides, inflatables, mini-golf, face painting, balloons, a train, rock-climbing wall, a big purple slide, and more. The annual BECU Classic Auto Show will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2013 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm as part of the Festival. And of course, no Strawberry Festival would be complete without a few strawberry shortcake eating contests!
